Homework Hint: Problem 5/37

The key to this problem is to recognize that the direction of motion of the contact point C of the bar with the edge is constrained. Do you see this? If not, take a look at the attached PDF file.

Once you have this constraint, write down a single vector velocity equation relating the velocities of points A and C on the bar. This vector equation gives you two scalar equations in terms of the two unknowns of vC and the angular speed of the bar.
