Problem 6/123

I have been work through this problem to get ready for the test and I am not able to get the answer that is in the book. I have used the work energy equations and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. What method should I be using to solve it or am i on the right track with the work energy equations?

Yes, this is a problem for work-energy.

Be sure to use the mass moment of inertia about the same point that you use for the velocity term. That is, if you use G, this use I_G; if you use O, then use I_O.

thanks I was using the wrong moment of inertia
