The author failed to tell us about the omega_p component of acceleration. Without knowing the rate of change of speed of omega_p you cannot solve the problem.
Please use the "additional information" that omega_p = constant. Therefore, omega_p_dot = 0. This is what was used in writing up the solution on which your solution will be graded.
